With a plethora of choices, including size, style, and cost, RV’ing is the perfect way to get out and see the sights, both near and far. And nowhere on the West Coast can you test drive and explore more RVs than at the 59th Annual California RV Show, opening Friday, October 14 and running through Sunday, October 23 at the Fairplex in Pomona.
With 800 RVs on display and 150 additional RVs ready for consumers to test drive, the 59th Annual California RV Show is the place for everything RV. All of the major RV manufacturers, including Fleetwood, Tiffin, Thor and Winnebago, as well as iconic brands like Airstream, will be on hand to open their newest models for your inspection. Over the 10-day show, 60 seminars and demonstrations led by the manufacturers themselves will introduce buyers to the ins and outs of a wide array of brands and models.

Manufacturers are listening to customers’ preferences and many new RVs are a stunning combination of technology, luxury materials and, much improved fuel economy.
Winnebago has introduced the Via which is built on the Mercedes Sprinter F-50 chassis, while Tiffin Motorhomes has its Breeze, built on Tiffin’s own PowerGlide chassis. Both have fuel efficient diesel engines (turbo-diesel for the Via.). Today’s diesels run cleaner than ever before and provide enough horsepower and torque to make driving and caring for a RV a breeze (no pun intended.) Both are Class A RVs, meaning the vehicles’ living area has been entirely constructed on a bare, specially designed chassis. Best of all: no special drivers’ license required.

In addition to the efficient turbo-diesel engine, Winnebago’s Via offers LED lighting, which doesn’t get hot and cuts energy consumption up to 70% allowing longer battery life while dry camping.
So beat the high costs of vacationing by enjoying your own RV. A study by PKF Consulting, an international consulting firm with expertise in travel and tourism, found that “typical RV family vacations are on average 27 to 61 percent less expensive than other types of vacations studied.” Even factoring in RV ownership and fuel costs, the study reveals that RV family vacations tend to be significantly less expensive than other types of vacations.
Fuel prices would have to more than double for typical motorhome vacations to become more expensive than other forms of travel, according to PKF Consulting. The study also shows that fuel costs would have to more than triple for trips in lightweight travel trailers or folding camping trailers to be more expensive than the least expensive non-RV vacation. Almost 80 percent of the RV market consists of towable RVs, including lightweight units which can be towed by car, van or pickup.
The 59th Annual California RV Show, the largest RV show in the West, opens on Friday, October 14 at 10 a.m. at the Pomona Fairplex and is guaranteed to bring the economy and fun of RV travel to everyone who visits.
